Basalite Cobblestone Permeable combines a tumbled, old-world cobble appearance with a permeable joint system — the aged European character of a cobblestone drive, but engineered so stormwater infiltrates through the surface into an open-graded aggregate base rather than running off.
Permeable paving can help satisfy municipal stormwater and post-construction runoff requirements and reduce or eliminate the need for detention basins and additional site drainage. Most permeable pavers read as modern and utilitarian; this is the choice when a project needs permeability but the architecture calls for a traditional or European look — historic districts, older homes, and estate driveways. Practical benefits include less surface ponding, reduced ice formation, and lower runoff volume leaving the property.
Applications include driveways, motor courts, courtyards, parking areas, and overflow parking. Note that permeable systems require a specific open-graded base section, not the standard compacted base used under conventional pavers — direct contractors to contact the yard to discuss base and aggregate specification.
