Basalite Wood Grain Paver is a long plank-format paver cast with a timber grain texture and color, designed to give the appearance of a wood deck or timber boardwalk in a concrete unit. The appeal is the look of timber without the maintenance: concrete does not rot, splinter, warp, or need annual sealing and staining, and it will not be damaged by termites or by standing water. This matters most in the exact settings where a wood deck fails fastest — pool surrounds, spa surrounds, shaded side yards, and anywhere in constant contact with moisture.
The plank format is long and narrow, so laid in parallel runs it produces strong directional lines that read as decking. It can also be laid in a staggered running bond for a plank-floor effect or spaced with open joints filled with gravel or ground cover for a boardwalk look. The two colors cover the two ends of the timber palette: a cool weathered gray in the tone of aged driftwood or sun-bleached decking, and a warm reddish-brown in the tone of cedar or redwood.
Applications are pool decks, spa surrounds, patios, walkways, and garden paths, particularly on contemporary and mid-century homes where a deck aesthetic is wanted at ground level without building an actual raised deck.
